Youth

The Youth Ministry at Lee’s Summit Christian Church exists to provide a safe place for youth to discover the joy of following Christ. We all want to know that we are not alone on this journey of life. Here youth are invited to be their authentic selves and find the respect they deserve as blessed children of God.

Caring adults develop meaningful relationships with youth to accompany them on the journey. We know that the transition from adolescence to young adult is difficult, and we provide a supportive space for youth to ask the hard questions, to think for themselves, and learn a vocabulary of faith as they grow in their relationship with God and become who God is calling them to be.

Youth Ministry Objectives

• Provide a place of love and acceptance
• Provide a safe place for fun and fellowship
• Accompany youth as they walk in the ways of Jesus
• Empower youth to discover gifts and take on leadership roles in the life of the congregation

Youth Ministry Goals

The youth will experience these objectives through fellowship, worship, singing, discussion, group building, outreach and goofing off.

Each youth will encounter God through: exploring Scripture, wrestling with questions, engaging in discussion, sharing in prayer, and building community in the Body of Christ through fellowship.

Grades 9-12 – Room 224
We will engage in activities that apply Scripture to what’s going on in our lives. We will encounter God through: exploring Scripture, wrestling with questions, engaging in discussion, and sharing in prayer, with fellowship and fun of course!

SUNDAY EVENING YOUTH GROUPS, 4-6 p.m.

Grades 7 & 8 (Chi-Ro) – Room 221
Grades 9-12 (CYF: Christian Youth Fellowship) – Room 224

We’ll share together in fellowship, song, worship, discussion, group building, mission work and goofing off. This is the time to come together and share our high and low points of the week, laugh and grow in our journey of faith. This is a safe place where lives are shared and trust is built.

Clown Ministry, For Grades 7-12, Sunday Evenings (6:00pm-7:00pm)

This ministry provides a creative outlet to share the joy of our faith! Through skits presented as a part of worship, the clowns portray the Scriptures in new, simple and relevant terms.

We also serve our community by performing at community events, shelters and other special opportunities. You will learn how to put on clown make up, create costumes for your character, make balloon animals and other clown skills. Most of all, we build stronger relationships, gain confidence and grow to understand our faith while having fun!
